Banpaku Park...
...is very near where George and Namiki live and was the site of the 1970 World Exposition. In the middle of the park is the National Museum of Ethnology and it is amazing. Simon and I went last time we were here but we went again today and actually we need at least two more visits just to get a grip of what's there. Probably a year's season ticket and a once-a-week visit might just give one a handle on it all! Here are just a few of the things we saw today - it's hugely varied but as you walk around the museum it is actually well set out and very cohesive. Some of my favourite exhibits are the scale models of old Japanese houses or family compounds.
